0.8 km / 0.5 miles west of Olema along Bear Valley Road
This is the park's primary visitor center and is located in the Olema Valley. It is designed in the style of the local historical ranching style. This visitor center offers exhibits on the diverse park ecosystems and cultural heritage including an informational video, seismograph, and touch table.
Lighthouse Visitor Center—(415) 669-1534
Open Thursday through Monday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Lighthouse stairs and exhibits (weather permitting), 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Lens Room open as weather & staffing permit. All Lighthouse facilities closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
On the Point Reyes Headlands, 45 minutes west of Bear Valley, at the end of Sir Francis Drake Blvd.
The exhibits at this visitor center focus on the historic Point Reyes Lighthouse and the important wildflowers and wildlife of the area such as whales, seals, sea lions, and birds. Visitors to the lighthouse can learn about the original clockworks, first-order Fresnel lens from the 1860s and two 1947 super typhoon foghorns. On the first and third Saturdays of the months between April and December there are also special evening presentations including the illuminating of the historic light.

On Drakes Beach, half an hour from Bear Valley off Sir Frances Drake Boulevard
The exhibits here center around maritime exploration of the 16th century and marine ecology including fossils and environments. Come see a real whale skeleton or take part in the annual Labor Day Sunday Sand Sculpture Contest.
All visitors centers close for December 25th and may have limited hours on Thanksgiving and December 24th.
Annual events include the Big Time Festival which occurs in July, and the Sand Sculpture Contest in September.
