Volunteer opportunities are also available. Volunteers are given the chance to work in many different areas of the park. The following are some of the diverse opportunaties available for voluteers:
- Habitat Restoration—Study biological diversity and help protect the native species of the park
- Visitor Services—Help direct visitors at the Bear Valley, Ken Patrick, or Lighthouse visitor centers
- Administrative Assistant—Assist in general office duties such as answering phones, making copies, designing brochures, and updating the park website
- Kule Loklo—Learn about the Coast Miwok culture while working with park rangers and cultural demonstators
- Morgan Horse Ranch—Ride horses and help with maintenance and cleaning of tack, equipment, fences, and buildings
- Stream Team—Improve fish habitat through stream restoration, includes native planting, fence construction, and removal of invasive species
- Elephant Seal Docent—Educate park visitors about the Elephant Seals during the pupping season, late December through March
- Harbor Seal Monitoring—Monitor several populations of Harbor Seals during their breeding season, March through July
- Snowy Plover Docent Program—Promote awareness of the importance protecting the threatened Western Snowy Plover nesting sites and inform park visitors about seasonal beach closures to dogs
- Tule Elk Docent—Educate visitors about Tule Elk rutting behaviors and explain population management procedures
- Adopt-a-Trail—Help park staff with important trail maintenance tasks such as downed tree removal, trail brushing, and ditch clearing
- Native Plant Monitoring—Work with the Native Plant Society to monitor the endangered plants of the park
- Restoration for Watershed Enhancement—Work on native plant restoration along the Tomales Bay Watershed, including native grass seed collection and planting of native grasses, sedges, rushes, shrubs and trees
